About

Meet Ana Bachur

Based in Atlanta, GA · Serving clients across the United States

Hello, and welcome to AB Immigration Services.

My name is Ana Bachur, and immigration has been a part of my life long before it became my profession.

Although I was born in the United States, I spent most of my childhood in Goiânia, Brazil. My parents divorced when I was young, and because my mother was building a life for our family in the United States while navigating her own immigration journey, I was raised primarily by my grandmother alongside my cousin. During those years, I witnessed firsthand the sacrifices, uncertainty, and determination that so many immigrant families experience. I saw what it meant to leave behind family, language, culture, and familiarity in pursuit of better opportunities.

Those experiences shaped who I am today and gave me a deep appreciation for the resilience of immigrant families. They also taught me that behind every immigration case is a human story, one filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, and sacrifices.

When I returned to the United States, I pursued my education with the same values of hard work and perseverance that my family instilled in me. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology (Pre-Medicine) and a Minor in Psychology. I later completed the Paralegal Certificate Program through Emory University to further strengthen my ability to assist individuals navigating complex legal and immigration processes.

For more than five years, I have worked as a professional Portuguese-English interpreter and translator. Through that work, I have assisted thousands of individuals in medical appointments, surgeries, emergency room visits, psychiatric evaluations, legal proceedings, court hearings, USCIS interviews, and immigration consultations throughout Georgia. Serving as an interpreter allowed me to witness the fears, hopes, and challenges that many immigrants face when trying to understand complicated systems in a language that is not their own.

My experience eventually led me to work directly within immigration law as a USCIS and EOIR paralegal. In that role, I assisted with family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications, consular processing, asylum cases, VAWA petitions, U visas, work permits, naturalization applications, FOIA requests, motions, removal defense matters, and other humanitarian forms of relief. I helped organize evidence, prepare filings, communicate with clients, draft supporting documentation, and guide families through every stage of the immigration process.

What I learned during those years is that many individuals and families simply need someone who will listen, stay organized, explain the process clearly, and genuinely care about their case. Immigration paperwork can be overwhelming, confusing, and stressful. My goal is to help ease that burden by providing professional, organized, and personalized support every step of the way.

Today, through AB Immigration Services, I strive to offer affordable and dependable immigration document preparation, translation, interpretation, administrative support, and case organization services. Whether you are filing a family petition, preparing supporting documentation, responding to a government request, or simply trying to understand what documents are needed, I am committed to helping you navigate the process with confidence.

As a Brazilian-American, I am proud of both cultures that helped shape me. As a Christian, my faith influences how I serve others, with honesty, compassion, patience, integrity, and respect. Every client who comes to me is treated with dignity because I understand that immigration is not just paperwork, it is about families, futures, and opportunities.

Thank you for visiting AB Immigration Services. It would be my privilege to assist you and your family on your immigration journey.

My Promise

Every Case Is Different - and Honesty Comes First

Immigration is deeply personal. No two cases are the same, and no two paths to the United States look alike. I treat every client with the care, attention, and respect their story deserves. If during our consultation I see that your case is more complex and would benefit from the strategy of a licensed immigration attorney, I will tell you openly and refer you to a trusted attorney I work with. I would rather guide you toward the right help than take on work that isn't in your best interest. Your future matters more than my caseload.

Transparent, upfront communication
Trusted attorney referrals when your case needs one
Your best outcome - always the priority

USCIS Memorandum on Adjustment of Status (I-485)

June 2026

Understanding what changed - and what did not - in the latest policy guidance.

USCIS is reminding officers that Adjustment of Status (I-485) is discretionary and not automatic, even when someone is otherwise eligible. USCIS emphasizes that adjustment is considered an "extraordinary benefit" because it allows someone to become a permanent resident without leaving the United States for consular processing. The memorandum instructs officers to carefully weigh both positive and negative factors when deciding whether to approve an adjustment application.

  • Immigration history
  • Violations of immigration laws
  • Fraud or misrepresentation
  • Unauthorized employment
  • Family ties
  • Good moral character
  • Compliance with immigration status
  • Other positive equities supporting the case

This memorandum does not eliminate Adjustment of Status, automatically deny marriage-based green cards, automatically deny parolees, automatically deny asylum applicants who adjust later, create a new law, change the eligibility requirements for Adjustment of Status, or mean everyone must now leave the United States for consular processing. The memorandum mainly reminds officers to place greater emphasis on discretionary analysis when reviewing cases.

  • Eliminate Adjustment of Status
  • Automatically deny marriage-based green cards
  • Automatically deny parolees
  • Automatically deny asylum applicants who adjust later
  • Create a new law
  • Change the eligibility requirements for Adjustment of Status
  • Mean everyone must now leave the United States for consular processing

Many social media posts are saying things like "Adjustment of Status is over," "Marriage green cards are ending," or "Everyone will have to leave the U.S." Those statements are inaccurate based on the actual memorandum. The memo repeatedly acknowledges that Adjustment of Status remains available under the law and that officers must still review applications on a case-by-case basis.

USCIS officers may now place more emphasis on immigration violations, misrepresentation, fraud concerns, criminal history, and status violations as negative discretionary factors. At the same time, applicants may benefit from presenting stronger evidence of family ties, community involvement, employment history, good moral character, humanitarian factors, long-term residence, and positive contributions to society.

One of the strongest things you can do is respond to every question correctly and accurately, even when the answer is yes to difficult questions such as: Have you worked in the United States without permission? Have you violated your nonimmigrant status? Did you overstay? Did you work without a work permit? Honesty and transparency are viewed positively by USCIS officers. Beyond truthful answers, submitting strong supporting evidence also helps. Consider including the following documents with your application:

  • I-94 record (if you entered with a visa)
  • Business registration certificate and annual registration (if you own an LLC)
  • Professional and educational certificates
  • Life insurance policies
  • Letters from employers, community leaders, or religious organizations
  • Evidence of tax filings and financial stability
  • Proof of long-term residence and family ties
